Europea Funeral Insurance Plus
All Spanish families have funeral insurance. In most cases, the whole family is covered, even the youngest of children, as a funeral represents a major expense for a family. Funerals are very expensive, with cash funerals costing considerably more than via a funeral plan or insurance. Costs can average between €3000-€4000 Euros, and many funeral directors may refuse to cremate the deceased without full advance payment. Without adequate provision, this can cause severe problems for those who do not have that amount of cash available immediately to hand.
For a small monthly payment the insurance will cover you from day one for the following
The insurance policy guarantees collection of the deceased from anywhere in the world to Spain. A varnished casket, hearse for the funeral, minister and service in English, choice of cremation or burial, all documentation, registration including international death certificates, and use of the chapel of rest.
In addition the insurance can cover the following
DEATH BY ACCIDENT INSURANCE
In the event of an insured person dying as a result of an accident (allowing for certain exclusions i.e. motor racing,
paragliding mountaineering etc) an additional 6000.00 Euros will be paid to their next of kin.
PRIVATE MEDICAL SCHEME
All medical scheme clients will receive a booklet of names, addresses and telephone numbers of all private medical
clinics, specialists, dentists, opticians, etc., involved with this scheme.
Whatever the normal treatment price is within a given clinic, clients will be entitled to between a 50% and 70% discount so pay less at the time.

Europea Insurance is offered by the Mazarron Tanatorio, who also operates in other local areas. It is important to note that they will only accept the funerals of 2 other insurance companies (They also will accept Golden Leaves Funeral Plans). All other cremations are sent to Cartagena.
